SIGNATURES IN OUTLOOK 2013

This how-to details adding “complex” signatures to your emails in Outlook 2013 (complex in the sense of structured HTML, as opposed to plain text, or a simply an image).

  1. You should receive a URL from Elite Image which (when opened) should display your signature (it should start with “http://static.eliteimage.ca”) – open this in your web browser.
  2. In the browser viewport, select “All” (typically Ctrl+A), and copy to the clipboard (typically Ctrl+C) – you will know you’ve selected everything when the colours change:
  3. From Outlook, select “New Email”:
  4. From the toolbar, select “Signature”:
  5. From the drop-down, select “Signatures…”:
  6. From the “Signatures and Stationery” window, on the “E-mail Signature” tab, below the “Select signature to edit” box, click on the “New” button:
  7. In the popup, supply some descriptive name for the signature, such as “Work signature”, or the name of your company; click on the “OK” button when done:
  8. Click anywhere in the “Edit signature” text box to set focus on it (you should see the text caret displayed if the text box has focus):
  9. Paste the HTML which you copied into the clipboard at step #2; you should see your signature appear, complete with any graphics:
  10. Confirm that the signature is associated with the correct e-mail address, and that you’ve enabled the signature for “New messages” (if applicable); click the “OK” button once everything has been set:
  11. And you’re all done! From this point on, every time you create a new e-mail message, you should see (or be able to select) your signature:
